one:

What are Shell Layers like to use?  Where do I find how to install
and use them in the manual???  Will I be able to flip out of a job,
let's say word processing, and flip into another job... let's say Open
Systems accounting.  Not "quitting" out of either application to go into the 
other.

two:

Why would CTRL-D two or more times kill a job started from inittab for
respawn at run levels 2,3 ???
