There doesn't seem to be any way around this but to exit News > and re-enter. (Note: I assume you're referring to vnews.) The workaround is to explicitly select the article again with 123A for article 123, then followup. But where's the bug? This never happened before I (fool that I am) upgraded from patch level 8 to 14.
