We need a control vector that is efficiently expressed in all or most cell types. We have used enhancer/promoters from SV40, RSV, metallothionein, but these show tissue-preferences. Perhaps there is not a perfect control but I would think that the promoters from housekeeping genes such as tubulins, beta-actin, HPRT, or one of the histones might work. If anyone has suggestions, and (better yet) genomic clones of such genes please contact me. Thanks, Elmus Beale -------
