I need to purchase a small number of Ethernet transceiver cable
extenders that use twisted pairs to permit more than 50m (perhaps
200m) of distance from the transceiver to the device.

I know of products from RAD and Canoga-Perkins, both of which are 
in the under-$500 range per extender pair.  Can anyone report
hands-on experience with either of these products, or suggest
alternatives?
