He was deeply convinced that we should always start counts from 0 and was trying hard to pass that idea to everybody else. ( I think that he had some valid points. Remember that humanity managed to loose one whole year - year 0. :-) ) An apocryphic story claims, that once he had a surgery and was asked to count loudly, when given anesthetic.
