Hello Gods of Prolog --

    If any kind soul on the network would like to share some information
with me, I would like to exactly what IS an expert system, and does
anyone have a simple system written in prolog?
    You see, I am in the process of designing a (simple) expert system,
but in the process of writing it, I find that I am not so sure I know
all I need about the subject.  A pointer to a good book or reference would 
help my cause also, possibly/probably more than the actual code.
