We've had a kbox for about 9 months now. Except for a few horrible weeks in the beginning when we had a lemon power supply, I can't remember a single time it has crashed (well, we had to reboot it after a power failure once, but that hardly counts). I suspect your box has the "bad power supply filter capacitor" problem which has apparantly been popping up on some kboxes. There was a recall letter that went out a few months ago. Call Kinetics; they will either fix it at their factory for free or send you the parts and instructions to do it yourself if you prefer (from what I saw of the procedure, it's a 15-minute job for somebody who knows how to solder). -- Roy Smith, {allegra,cmcl2,philabs}!phri!roy System Administrator, Public Health Research Institute 455 First Avenue, New York, NY 10016
