Thanks for your thoughts. No, I'm not an UN>AI trying UN>to clone you. UN> Hmmmm. I think intelligence is not nearly well enough understood for the process of artificializing to go anywhere. Most proponents of aritificial intelligence don't understand human intellignece. Most Computer scientists who do understand human human intelligence think AI is nonsense. Now I've presuming that *I* know what I mean when I say "understand". But so far those who say our minds are too complex to mechanize have been proven right, and those who say "our minds are really simple" have yet to suceed in meaningful mechanization of them. You can't act like a human being unless you think you are a human being and are treated like a human being and act like a human being. It goes in circles. But so far our machines do not resemble human beings much at all. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fido 1:221/162 -- 1:221/0 280 Phillip St., UUCP: !watmath!isishq!doug Unit B-3-11 Waterloo, Ontario Bitnet: fido@water Canada N2L 3X1 Internet: doug@isishq.math.waterloo.edu (519) 746-5022 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ --- * Origin: ISIS International H.Q.
