Message-ID: <4082@bloom-beacon.MIT.EDU> Date: 27 Mar 88 21:32:54 GMT Sender: daemon@bloom-beacon.MIT.EDU Reply-To: rlcarr@athena.mit.edu (Richard L. Carreiro) Organization: Massachusetts Institute of Technology Lines: 22 I have an A1000 with a fully populated 2 Meg StarBoard II. In the event that I decide to buy an A2000, or A2500AT, or A2500UX, or whatever, how will the SBII work in it? I know that Microbotics has an adaptor to put the uncased SBII in an internal Amiga slot. Now, the A2000 comes with (I think), the .5Meg of CHIP RAM and .5Meg of fast RAM. With the SBII plugged in, does that mean I'd then have 2.5 fast and .5 CHIP for a total of 3Meg? Also, will the SBII auto-configure in that case? Also, with the A2500's which will (I have heard) have the Fat Agnes chip which can address more chip RAM. Will the SBII also work with that? And can the amout of memory that the "fat" custom chips access be set by the user, or is it hardwired into the chip. Finally, will programs that work under 1.2 on the A1000 work on the A2500 even with UNIX? Thanks for any answers. ******************************************************************************* * Richard L.
