The magazine had a picture of an open workbench window and a new preferences screen, and reviewed KS/WB 1.3, gamma _4_. The article claimed that you could _reboot_ the recoverable ram disk; I had a sick idea. I know that you can't mount the boot device under the FFS, since you need to read the file-system handler from the L: directory during a MOUNT command, and that if you boot from DF0:, the system automagically mounts all 3.5" disks for you (under SFS). If you boot from RAM: (called CARD: under gamma 4), or from DH0:, do the 3.5" floppies automatically mount? Can you mount the 3.5" floppies under FFS? I want to use _real_ 512 byte blocks for archive floppies, not 512 byte blocks with label space in each block. I realize that the extra space is >5%, but free space is free space.
