Everybody keeps judging the //gs by the Amiga. Look at it this way: Take a generic, enhanced //e ($$) Add a sound board (Mockingboard) a 65816 an accelerator board 256K RAM an RGB card a mouse a Super Serial Card an 80-column card a clock card a keyboard buffer a card that performs interrupts all of the built-in //gs toolkit software (incl RAM disk) What would you pay for all of this? There are those who say that the //e should have had these all along. Now it does. I use the //gs-specific stuff about 1% of the time; usually I use AppleWorks, ProTERM, or Merlin (ProDOS 8). Why not accept the //gs as a very enhanced //e? If you really want an Apple Amiga, screw old Apple // program support and make an Apple Amiga. If course, if Apple WAS able to create a //gs with super speed, incredible graphics, AND be able to run AppleVision, things would be much different... -- "Apple // Forever"
