The pet you found is one of the original models IF it doesn't have IEEE port on it. That model was first made around 1976 thru about 1978, when CBM released the versions that had the IEEE port on it. Now, can anybody else tell me where I can find a CHEAP drive for the 4040 model disk drive? It uses the EXACT same drives as the Apple ][ did years ago; in fact, I've seen direct swaps for the drives. The model type is Shugart SA-400, and all I need is the chassis, no electronics.. Also, some asked about the 9090/9060 IEEE hard drive, and creating subdirectorys on it. Not a chance. The only drive CBM makes that supports sub-directorys on it is the 1581.
