However, there is *no* support for *any* non-IBM video mode. Turbo C 1.5 supports CGA, EGA, VGA (but not MCGA 320x200x256 colors), PC 3270, Hercules monochrome, and AT&T 640x400. Microsoft doesn't support any of the last three. You could also go out and purchase a third party graphics library, but (he says, whipping out his Programmer's Connection catalog) most of them will cost more than TC. Ah, here's one that lists for $40; oops, it only supports CGA, EGA, and Z100. Hmm, QuickWINDOW/C sounds good (a QC-specific version of MetaWINDOW), and it's only $95 (discounted to $79, fifteen dollars more than TC); doesn't specifically mention HGA, but it seems likely. Programmer's Connection is at 800-336-1166; if you're going to get Turbo C, PC Connection (no relation) is slightly faster, and maybe a tad cheaper (800-243-8088). -Paul S. R.
