Lines: 19 I purchased a new AT clone several weeks ago and I'm experiencing 1 slight problem with it. First its a ProMax w/ELT 286 motherboard. I would like to hear from anyone who has an ELT motherboard. Also: is Intel the only chipmaker of the 80286? Or do other companies make them also? If so, who makes the ELT 80286 microprocessor? (It has a heat sink covering it up) Problem is that sometimes I hear a loud electric crackle and the screen appears to get distorted, this only lasts for a fraction of a second and then everything returns to normal save a keyboard lockup, so I am forced to reboot. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? It has happened about 3 times so far. Any help greatly appreciated, Scott Brodsky University of Lowell, CS sbrodsky@hawk.ulowell.edu Scott Brodsky, University of Lowell CS dept., sbrodsky@hawk.ulowell.edu
