Is there anything out there that lets me have multiple connections to a Unix
host over my single terminal line.  I know there are similar things for
non-mac's and I would really go for one.

I imagine several windows whose traffic is all concentrated onto the single
line and then demux'ed at the other end using the pty facility in Unix.

This stuff must exist!  Especially now that big screens are common.
