Apple, it seems, felt third party applications vendors were feeling uncomfortable working closely with one part of a company which competed with them in their own markeet. ie, it's hard to really believe one part of Apple (say the developer's support side) could avoid passing some info on to another part of Apple (applictions). Suppose you had an idea for a brilliant application, *similar* to MacPaint but superior in some small area. Would you tell the support people what you were doing if they were going to probably be at lunch with the Macpaint product managers? Anyway, Claris is the spin-off to own all (formerly Apple) applications. If not the case now, I believe Apple wants nothing to do with Claris except that some of the first Claris employees were formerly Apple employees. Anyone from Apple or Claris care to jump in? Miles
