It doesn't destroy them, just hangs on boot. I have seen a few inits and patches for clocks/screensavers that do not work with all SCSI drivers. The actual blame is mostly on the SCSI driver designer I am sure. The one in particular I notice a lot happens with CMD 80mb drives. (And only 80mb drives!)
