There's probably a way, but the standard IBM compatible stuff depends on very IBM specific expanded memory hardware - won't work on a Z100. I can, however, alleviate your worries about wear and tear on your drive: Head motion does NOT cause appreciable wear on a hard drive. About the only mechanical part that wears significantly is the main spindle bearing, which wears the same whether you access the drive or not. Malcolm Petcher
