IT. The new keyboard is a no-name AT 'enhanced' with the gawd-aweful CAPS-LOCK placement (where any sane person would look for a control key ;-) My question is: is there any way to reassign (switch) the functionality of Caps-lock and Ctrl keys without resorting to hardware hacking ( I'm a elec. engr. but dont relish the though of cracking open my brand new keyboard and slicing traces (ick!) ) I'm running 2.3.0-L and HAVE read the setkey() command, but couldn't find any mention of the caps-lock scan-code. Neither does the keyboard manual mention any such trick. Thanx for the help, (lets see if this article get re-posted 15 times!) ===================================================================== Bill Rankin Bell Labs, Whippany NJ (201) 386-4154 (cornet 232) email address: ...![ ihnp4 ulysses cbosgd allegra ]!moss!wtr ...![ ihnp4 cbosgd akgua watmath ]!clyde!wtr =====================================================================
