The article (if you mean the one that has the subject "Offensive to Techies" 
in it) complained of sexist behaviour on the part of news administrators,
therefore making this a logical place to post it.  If later articles deviated
from this, it's only because people didn't have enough sense to edit the
newsgroups line.  If it's some other article your talking about, please
provide references, since this is the only article I've noticed that was like
that.
