These IC's are all socketed on the FX80 so the upgrade takes about 20 minutes. The quality of print is excellent for NLQ, its drawback is speed but these older Epsons could never go very fast anyway. It makes 2 passes for NLQ so it its throughput is about 80 cps. If your looking for speed, this is not the ticket. If your looking for NLQ go for it. The upgrade also lets you select any of the other print modes right from the 3 buttons on the front panel, which can be handy. The printer still boots to draft mode and none of its original functions are disturbed. The technical service guy I talked to told me the FX/JX package is different than the RX/MX package, so if you order it let me know if this is true since I have 1 upgrade kit left and want to do an MX80. I will send you a sample printout from an FX with the upgrade if you like. > It is worth $62 ? I think so, I(well ATT) paid the 79.99 list price.
