I think it's more like:

 		-- infinity
 		|      1
 		|  ---------  d(cabin) = log(cabin) + C = House Boat...
 		|    cabin
 	       -- 0
 
Dunno who invented this one, but Thomas Pynchon quoted it in 
"Gravity's Rainbow" which purported it to have been around at least
since W.W. II.
