so here goes...

I don't expect to be contributing much.  I'm a computer scientist, not
a biologist, and wouldn't have much to contribute.  I'll be mostly an
eavesdropper.  Of course i deal in the creation, understanding and
debugging of complex information structures that do their work
concurrently and that can interact wierd and wonderful ways... just
like yourselves.
