Message-ID: <4918@ecsvax.UUCP> Date: 12 Apr 88 20:27:04 GMT Organization: UNC Educational Computing Service Lines: 19 Keywords: LAT Terminal Server experiences Does anyone have actual experience with the new Emulex Performance 4000 LAT terminal servers? Any beta-testers out there? Anyone who is using the product now? The UNC School of Public Health is __very__ seriously considering the purchase of the emulex servers in preference over the DEC DECserver 200's and DECserver 500's. For comparable configurations (~352 terminal connections) for our new building, the Emulex product comes out about $10,000 - $15,000 (US) less expensive than DEC. And if these servers work as well as advertised, they will be quite a buy! Any information, dirt, or war-stories would be welcome, as would any information concerning success, ease of use, known bugs, emulex responsiveness, etc. -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tom Morris BITNET: TOM@UNCSPHVX UNC School of Public Health UUCP : ...!mcnc!ecsvax!tpmsph -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
