I am interested in finding references to work done on non tradational
methods of keeping track of file structure (i.e. which physical
block is file ID x, logical page N).  I know a lot of work has been
done in this area by Xerox but I do not have the specific papers
on it.

Also I am interested in finding references to work done on striping
(using several physical disks as one logical disks so files are
smeared and/or interleaved across several volumes for throughput
increases).
