Quarterman) From: Kent Paul Dolan John, Comment only: "SPARC" is a _horrible_ choice of names for a product connected with an ANSI (UNIX) standard, since the acronym is already used _within_ ANSI for its Standards Planning And Review Committee. I was on my third AT&T/Sun/SPARC posting reading before I realized that this committee was _not_ the subject matter! (I was once a member of ANSI/X3H3; thence the strong association.) This name conflict can do nothing but lead to endless confusion within standards efforts involving this product, and so I recommend that "SPARC" should be quickly replaced with a less overloaded name by AT&T/Sun.
