But the functions provided by UNIX IPC are a very close match to those provided by the Amiga EXEC already. Apart from named pipes, which have already been implemented, there really isn't any functional difference between the two. A package that provides streams-type pushing and popping of filters would be nice, though there's already a public domain package that provides more functionality than streams does... I'm talking about the Commodities Manager.
