I think this is has a lot of potential and should be pursued. However, due to the actions of a few prepubescents here at OU this node is locked out for the rest of the quarter. Hopefully Murphy or someone will go ahead with the idea. I just read a note about using the KERMIT INSTALL program with the write protec t tab on. I'm not sure, but this may be giving you the errors. Another way of of loading a driver into memory without altering the disk setup is to bload Kermit and then EXEC the driver that you want. This may avoid the problems. Wor th a try.
