Also, >get Bank Street Writer. It's a simple-minded word processing program The most recent versions of the Bank Street Writer are not as simple-minded as the old 40 column version was; heck, now there's even a spelling checker. My children have been typing their assignments with the Bank Street Writer since 4th grade. One real asset of the program is that it's not too complicated for first and second grade students to learn how to use (though my daughters didn't express any real interest in it at that age). I didn't mention a word processor because I didn't think it very useful in a classroom environment (which probably isn't the best place for composing). Perhaps I'm wrong about that. What about LogoWriter (for which there is a "bulk" purchase deal for schools that permits students to have personal disks to take home)? I haven't seen it, but I've heard good things about it. --------------------- Disclaimer: If my employer tries to express my opinion, I'll sue for violation of the "look and feel" of this message!
