But what I need - if someone out there is looking for a program to write - is something to run on my Apple which reads text files and 'unshars' them so to speak - that is, write out the mail header and intro comments into one file and from the CALL -151 thru the last non blank line into another file. I would also like to be able to give it multiple names with the result being that the output is concantenated/ appended. The problem is that I cannot find a nice text based editor which allows more than 35 k of text file - most of the files posted so far are more than that and so I cannot strip off the intro stuff. Anyone have any neat ideas - even something like csplit on unix ported to the Apple 2 would be nice! Also, when folks post items, PLEASE TELL US WHAT VERSION LEVEL and WHAT the final file name is for the posting in the Subject line. That way those folks who are getting both Apple2-l and comp.binaries.apple2, or even proline, compuserve, etc. can tell if they already have a particular version. Lastly, be sure to list operating system and hardware requirements in a posting - I have gotteen several IIgs files lately which gave no indication that they were for the iigs only. -- Larry W.
