I've got the old ROMS, which, I suspect, is my main problem... I think the renumber makes it thru pass one (the "unresolved reference" pass) and is crashing during the memory-check pass, since nothing is actually changed in my program. After issuing a RENUMBER 1000,10 command I get an enigmatic ?SYNTAX ERROR, but not until a minute or so has gone by. I've been thru my basic text most carefully and can't see anything outrageously wrong... any ideas? -- David Paulsen - CHARTER MEMBER, WILLIAM WINDOM FAN CLUB ..uunet!nuchat!seven "You stand in the shadows or reach for the sky; This time the promise is not just illusion; I'm heading for glory, I'm learning to fly..." --E.L.P.
