I'll take that on faith (I have no great love for IBM :-) :-)

If you want to take another route, find a CP/M machine with a 10 or 20 meg
hard disk (Televideo 803h comes to mind, or a Kaypro 10 or .....)
and get a copy of PICS. It has more features than you can shake a stick 
at - messaging, conference areas, up/down loads etc. etc. I talk to
one PICS system on a Televideo 803h (that's a 4MHz Z80 for all you 32
bit people out there), and it handles 6 lines currently, and the sysop
plans to upgrade to 24.
