There are close to 1000 different GIF files on the PICTURES forum on 
Compuserve.  Some of them are large files that do not compress with 
ARC very well.  There are also alot of GIF files there that were submitted
by Amiga and Atari users that do not decode too well on a CGA or EGA 
monitor.  There are also alot of GIF files that do look very good on
an EGA monitor.

I have personally downloaded approximately 200 GIF files from Compuserve
and I would say that about 70% look good on my EGA monitor.
