It supports the full 40meg in one partition: | no barrier at 32meg. I understand it works great. Anyone know what the | limit to a partition size under Compaq's DOS is? | -- | James R. Van Artsdalen jva@astro.as.utexas.edu "Live Free or Die" | +---------- Compaq's Dos allows you to double the size of the partition, at the cost of doubling the minimum size of a file. In a normal partition (normal MS-DOS) the max partition is 32Meg, and the minimum filesize is 2k (i.e. if you have a file that's less than 2k, it takes up 2k anyways). If you double the partition to 64Meg, then the smallest file is 4k. I believe you can double the partition a couple of times; though there's no reason to do it more than 3 times anyways (right now, that is). _Get_ the partitioning software... -- /|\ /|\ .. . . . . . . . . . . | |\| |\| .. . . . . . . . . . . |/|\|/|\|/|| _ _ _ _ |_| _ _ |_ -__ _ _ARPA: lupin3@ucscb.ucsc.EDU | |/| |/|L_ (_\( ( (_/ | |(_\_) (_ || )(_)_)UUCP: *!ucbvax!ucscc!ucscb!lupin3 \|/ \|/ larry / hastings _/ BITNET: lupin3@ucscb@ucscc.BITNET MetaWare Inc "I saved Esquire readers from exploding pies." --Michael J.
