Raymond @ Raytheon Company, Portsmouth RI) Organization: Raytheon Company, Portsmouth RI Lines: 14 Keywords: patch, diff I just tried using the patch utility that was posted in comp.binaries.ibm.pc a little while ago and encountered a few problems. The file I tried to patch was the "edit.c" file that was recently posted. The diff file was a file that was posted to correct a problem in "edit.c". There were several problems. First, patch did not recognize the diff format used. Second, it munged the file with null characters. Third, it tried to create a file "pr003937" and was unable to do so. I have MSDOS 3.3. Would someone please explain what's going on. Thank you. -- Terry Raymond Raytheon Submarine Signal Division; Portsmouth RI; (401)-847-8000 x5597 smart mailer or arpanet: trr@rayssd.ray.com old dumb mailer or uucp: {cbosgd,gatech,ihnp4,linus!raybed2} !rayssd!trr
