I talked with Masscomp, and they said that they do not fix and charge for parts and labor. Instead, they have a swap-only policy, and the fixed price for this is $1800. I called Cipher, based in San Diego, and they said that if we shipped it to them they would fix the drive for $637 for parts and labor. This does not cover missing parts, or massive replacement, in which case they call you and tell you before they actually do any repairs. I don't have their number with me, but I can get it tomorrow. People really need alternative repair sources. In my opinion, Masscomp's repair policy is too rigid and far too expensive.
