It does a failry good job, though manual modification of the resulting .bib file is still probably necessary. The C program is a modification of one written by Rusty Wright at the Center for Music Experiment, UCSD and modified by Rod Oldehoeft at LLNL & Colorado State University. It is called r2bib.c. The shell program 'refer2tex' (actually csh) is mine, and converts a few selected troff constructs found in bibliography entries I have come across into LaTeX constructs. It uses a sed file called bibfix.sed. The files are available as a shell archive in comp.sources.misc. Please direct correspondence to me, addresses below.
