In "The Business World" section of the New York Times
Magazine for Mar 27th, there is an article on Bill Joy.
On the opposition to the AT&T-Sun deal, it says:

   Bill Joy is reminded of what happened when he
   skipped a grade at school: "The other kids didn't
   like me, and I had to walk home the long way around
   to avoid the bully. The other computer companies
   don't like us very much these days."
   
The whole article is worth reading.
