I am trying to find a way to determine how many characters (if any) are waiting to be read from the input buffer Is there any cut and dry method of doing this? some people have suggested trapping an I/O signal. Others have suggested using ioctl() many thanks, -- J. Paul Landolt world: ...uunet!ontmoh!yunccn!landolt nccn: ...!yunccn!landolt
