I have sucessfully compiled and run 18.50 under X11R2, but I have one small problem, I can't get any mouse functions to work. I have read XDOC and NEWS etc. and looked in the code. I am pretty sure that it has to do with the value of the lisp variable xterm not being set or being reset to Qnil, but I can't figure out exactly why or what. The symptoms are: emacs brings up an X window, loads a bunch of .el files and waits for input if i click the mouse i get 2 feeps and nothing happens if i load x11-win.el and/or x-mouse.el and click the mouse i get the message "Terminal does not understand X protocal" echo $TERM shows xterm as my terminal type uwm is running i am running on a 386 box under a BSD clone i am frustrated has anyone gotten the mouse to work with 18.50 ???? P.S. a bit ago i posted a question to ca.unix and received a number of arrogant and/or pompous replies, please, the sign of your superior intellect is your ability to help... -- Laissez les bons temps rouler - Queen Ida ...{decwrl|ucbvax}!imagen!atari!daisy!turner (James M.
