Judging by what I've read in this group lately, you'd be further risking
the wrath of the power freaks and bean counters who are doing their best
to turn off everything but the comp.* groups.  After all, History
majors are likely to post in talk.* or soc.*, aren't they?  And God knows
where the Art students will post.

Any successful enterprise collects parasites who portray themselves
as protectors of the bottom line, etc., and evidently the net participants
are going to have to deal with this problem before expanding.
