The 7404 is a hex inverter chip.

There are two different pinouts for the 7404, depending on suffix,
as follows:

		SN7404(J,N)		SN7404(W)

		IN	OUT		IN	OUT
		 1	 2		 1	 14
		 3	 4		 3	  2
		 5	 6		 5	  6
		 9	 8		 7	  8
		11	10		 9	 10
		13	12		13	 12
