I would like to build a metal detector for underwater use. I'm not talking
about a toy here but the real thing. The ones I have been looking at in the
stores are in the $300 to $850 range and I don't believe that to be 
reasonable. Making a water tight box for the thing is no real big deal but
I don't know just how the more elaborate ones work. Do they have sending
and receiving coils? Phase detection? If anyone out there has one with
schematics, or an article about them, I would be most appreciative of your
help.
