I would be happy to test perl whatever it is. Since I had trouble sending mail to vic@zen: to Victor: I am surprised that you say you are using HP-UX 1.2. Unless HP numbers the 300/500/800 series differently (I know 300 and 500 to be similar) 5.x should have been the current and earliest version available when the 800 series was announced. If in fact you are using an ancient version, it may be the cause of your difficulty. My understanding is that versions prior to 5.0 were system III + some BSD 4.2 features, and were not intended to be system V supportive. To Larry: jpl-devvax.jpl.nasa.GOV is not listed in sri-nic. Consequently, there is no address on nwc.arpa for me to ftp to or mail to. In order to test perl, or mail to you or whatever, I need another way (other than ftp) of making the connection. Perhaps you could mail it to me... Erik van Bronkhorst vbronkhorst@nwc.arpa (DDN) {rutgers,uunet,...}!nwc.arpa!vbronknorst (619) 939-1421 ps. nwc.arpa is not our HP9000, it is two vaxes in a cluster running VMeSs and I am not responsible for their function (or lack thereof). ------
