How am I using perl? Well - I don't.

I've patched it up to #28, but cannot get it to pass the tests on
my machine (an HP9000 model 320 running HP-UX version 5.3).

I've sent a mail to Larry to ask for information about my problems before I
dig into the sources, and I'm still waiting ....

It looks promising, though ...
