Something to think about, is that people who make workstations such as Sun are constantly working down the price curve and trying to make the whizziest system for the least money. IF IT WAS POSSIBLE TO MAKE A DISKFULL UNIX WORKSTATION FOR < $8K TODAY WE WOULD! We want to make one because we know people would buy them, but that is like saying if someone would just make a flying car, rush hour traffic wouldn't be a problem. Now both of these problems will be solved one day but that day is not today so all you can do is wait until your disposable income intersects the cost of a UNIX workstation. I would be nice but it isn't possible yet. Just like it isn't possible to build a Cray for less than $100,000. Those would sell too. --Chuck McManis uucp: {anywhere}!sun!cmcmanis BIX: cmcmanis ARPAnet: cmcmanis@sun.com These opinions are my own and no one elses, but you knew that didn't you.
