    Check the DTR line!  Both Flight Simulator and Jet seem to share this
malady.  The programs do not bring the DTR line high and the modem will simply
ignore anything on the data lines.  There are at least two remedies for the
situation:
      1. Send the modem a software command to tell it to ignore the DTR line.
      2. Set a dip-switch on the modem to tell it to ignore the DTR line
      3. Hard-wire a high signal to the DTR line

      Oooops, that's 3.
