I ordered a Supra hard disk interface in early March. I was told that they had one in stock and would send it out tomorrow. They billed my Visa account the next day. Three weeks elapse. Nothing. Call 'em up. "Why Mr. Cronin, it just so happens we sent it out this very day." What a coincidence! Another week goes by. Nothing. Another call. "UPS must have lost it. Give me your number and we'll get back to you RSN." So what's the deal with places like this? Do they lie about what they have in stock, or is it a simple cashflow thing, increasing "float" by billing early and shipping late? (or never?)
