I believe these printers require a >substantially large buffer to build their bitmaps into. I'm not exactly sure but for the Mac's part most bitmaps are at regular Mac resolution of 72 dpi. The full 300 dpi is usually left to the LaserWriter which is why i t is so slow. I'd like to work on 300 dpi graphics but it still isn't easy yet.
