With respect to 100Megs on the disk, I tend to agree. 100 Megs would be nice to have, but, C-A, do you really have to make it a minimum? I worked on the Unisoft port of UNIX Sys V to the Dimension 68K in '84, and we ran the full system on a 22Meg drive (admitedly, without a lot of user space left over, but still.) I think as shipped, the disk had about 13M on it, plus a 2 M swap space. But that included over 2M of man pages. I am currently running on an ATT 3b1, with a 67Meg disk, running System V Release 3.51. Admittedly, it is missing a few things, but when I got it loaded up, it would come up and tell me that 89% of the disk was still available. (Of course, now that I'm running "news" on it, that's down to less than 20%! :^) ) The 100Megs would be nice to have, but can't we offer entry level options that are less? > Darin Johnson (...lll-lcc.arpa!leadsv!laic!darin) > (...ucbvax!sun!sunncal!leadsv!laic!darin) -- Dave Hanna, Daltech MicroSystems | "Do or do not -- There is no try" P.O.
